Espotlight is an film and TV production company, founded by Anxo Rodríguez in 2020, in collaboration with the American studio Legendary. Our goal is to become the reference for Spanish-language content worldwide. Our model is to connect the best content with the best talent, both in front of and behind the cameras.

At Espotlight, we collaborate closely with the most relevantn voices in the industry, as well as with emerging local talent. We produce projects for major global streaming platforms, covering various stages of development, production, and post-production.

Anxo Rodriguez

CEO

Anxo Rodríguez is producer and talent agent with a background in law and business affairs specialized in intellectual property. As a producer he has been rewarded with a Goya Award for the documentary Paco de Lucia: La Búsqueda, which he produced and executive produced, he worked as head of business affairs for the Netflix show La Casa de Papel, the HBO show Foodie Love or the Movistar shows El Embarcadero or Mira lo que has hecho. Anxo launched Espotlight with the aim of promoting local content for the international market. Thus far, Espotlight has produced David Victori’s new series, which will premiere 2023; as well as Mariano Barroso’s and Alejandro Hernandez’s “Los Farad” for Amazon, amongst others. He also owns the talent agency Alter Ego Talent House which furnishes ESPotlight with A list talent in the territory including writers, directors, actors and composers.

Olalla Santamaría

Managing Director

Graduated in Business Administration and Management and in Law from ICADE, Olalla has extensive professional experience in business management, strategic planning, and team management. She has built her professional career as a financial and risk consultant at Deloitte and PwC, where she has carried out consulting and auditing projects for major national and international companies. Before taking on the role of CEO at Espotlight, Olalla led the internationalization and business development process in Europe for a listed Chilean company, taking on the 360º management of the European subsidiary.

Paula Cobo

Content and Executive Production

Relevant education includes her title in international distribution at the prestigious school of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba). In 2017 Paula worked in the development department of Mogambo, a production company specialized in tax incentives that initiated a local production department. She joined Alter Ego as a Directors, Writers and Composers junior agent and gained a great expertise in the management of the client’s daily business needs as well as in the field of development due to the amount of projects Alter Ego clients were developing in house. Paula helps in the developing process, research and material reviewing covering the needs of the creative team.

Xian Diaz

Business Affairs

Xian has substantial experience in the Film & TV series production industry, including development, production and distribution. Negotiation, drafting and revision of production-related deals, including above-the-line and below- the-line agreements, PSAs, deal memos, option agreements, work-for-hire agreements, audiovisual media services regulation, etc.

Verónica Franco

Production Director

Production Director with extensive international experience. With a degree in Communication Sciences (University of the Republic, Uruguay), she began her television career with La Cocina de Francis Mallmann and El hombre y la ciencia. Between 2004 and 2011, she was production coordinator at Volcano Films, participating in global campaigns for Toyota, Vodafone, Adidas, Dolce & Gabbana and in feature films such as Caótica Ana (Julio Medem) and Évolution (Lucile Hadzihalilovic). Since then, Verónica has led advertising and film productions in Europe and Latin America. She has been production manager, location manager and production director on series and films such as La Templanza (Amazon Prime), Sky Rojo (Netflix), Apagón (Movistar+), Galgos (Movistar+) and Islands (Fasten Films). Since 2024, she has been production director at Espotlight, leading the production teams for projects such as the series Dime tu nombre (Prime Video) and the films Cortafuego (Netflix) and Boulevard (Sony Pictures).

Nuria Márquez

Head of Press

Nuria Márquez is the Head of Communication and Press at ESPotlight. During the years at the agency Alter Ego Talent House she has helped position all the projects and their talents at a higher level in the industry managing their careers with a marketing vision. Nuria was also part of Malaga film festival since its start. At the festival Nuria was a publisher, a PR the responsible of the tribute prices and honored guests every year.

Mar Álvarez

Press

Mar Álvarez is a journalist specialized in socio-cultural communication with experience in the world of culture. She has worked in various sectors related to communication, and in 2023, she joins the press department of Espotlight.

Elena del Olmo

Press

Patricia Paredes

CFO

Patricia has extensive experience in the financial field, especially in terms of accounting, billing, tax preparation, clearing and settlement, matching of financial transactions, etc. Before becoming Espotlight’s head of finance, Patricia worked for Mogambo, a company focused on managing revenue benefit of Spanish tax incentives for film production.

Adrián has extensive experience in accounting.
