Espotlight is an film and TV production company, founded by Anxo Rodríguez in 2020, in collaboration with the American studio Legendary. Our goal is to become the reference for Spanish-language content worldwide. Our model is to connect the best content with the best talent, both in front of and behind the cameras.

Anxo Rodríguez is producer and talent agent with a background in law and business affairs specialized in intellectual property. As a producer he has been rewarded with a Goya Award for the documentary Paco de Lucia: La Búsqueda, which he produced and executive produced, he worked as head of business affairs for the Netflix show La Casa de Papel, the HBO show Foodie Love or the Movistar shows El Embarcadero or Mira lo que has hecho.
Anxo launched Espotlight with the aim of promoting local content for the international market. Thus far, Espotlight has produced David Victori’s new series, which will premiere 2023; as well as Mariano Barroso’s and Alejandro Hernandez’s “Los Farad” for Amazon, amongst others. He also owns the talent agency Alter Ego Talent House which furnishes ESPotlight with A list talent in the territory including writers, directors, actors and composers.
Graduated in Business Administration and Management and in Law from ICADE, Olalla has extensive professional experience in business management, strategic planning, and team management.
She has built her professional career as a financial and risk consultant at Deloitte and PwC, where she has carried out consulting and auditing projects for major national and international companies.
Before taking on the role of CEO at Espotlight, Olalla led the internationalization and business development process in Europe for a listed Chilean company, taking on the 360º management of the European subsidiary.
Anne Thomopoulos, former HBO Senior Vice President, pioneered the creation of HBO’s dramatic series department, developing groundbreaking shows like OZ. She later established the award-winning miniseries division with projects like From the Earth to the Moon, Band of Brothers, and The Corner. Thomopoulos also executive produced ROME, Generation Kill, Camelot, Borgia, The Black Box, Versailles, The Collection, and Britannia. Her latest work, the French romantic comedy series The Hook Up Plan, premiered on NETFLIX in December 2018. Later, she partnered with Chris Albrecht at Legendary Global, Legendary Entertainment’s international television venture.
Relevant education includes her title in international distribution at the prestigious school of San Antonio de los Baños (Cuba). In 2017 Paula worked in the development department of Mogambo, a production company specialized in tax incentives that initiated a local production department. She joined Alter Ego as a Directors, Writers and Composers junior agent and gained a great expertise in the management of the client’s daily business needs as well as in the field of development due to the amount of projects Alter Ego clients were developing in house. Paula helps in the developing process, research and material reviewing covering the needs of the creative team.
Xian has substantial experience in the Film & TV series production industry, including development, production and distribution. Negotiation, drafting and revision of production-related deals, including above-the-line and below- the-line agreements, PSAs, deal memos, option agreements, work-for-hire agreements, audiovisual media services regulation, etc.
Teresa has extensive experience in the field of production, both for television and film, having held the position of production coordinator in the local production area of Warner Bros. Spain. In addition to being extensive, her experience is also diverse, making Teresa a multidisciplinary profile with expertise in controller functions, production, development, and negotiation.
Carmen has a background in creative writing, development and production. While Studying Media Studies (UC3M), she joined the local team of Popular TV, where she worked as camera operator, editor and content creator. With an exchange year in Canada studying Communication, Art and Visual Studies (UofC), Carmen has always specialized in creative writing. Her recent studies include the Advanced Screenwriting for TV and Film Course (Factoría del Guion). Right after graduating, Carmen started working as a junior agent of the Alter Ego LIT team, and as a creative and production assistant for Espotlight Media.
Manuel has background in screenwriting, development and production. While he recently graduated from the screenwriting master’s degree (UC3M), he started working for Ogilvy & Mather as part of the production team, and later joined the Warner Brothers’ local production team, where he was part of the scripted development department. Some relevant titles include the upcoming Oriol Paulo’s movie “Los renglones torcidos de Dios” or Santiago Segura’s “A todo tren. Destino Asturias”. He now assists the Alter Ego LIT teams as a junior agent, and participates in the creative development process of Espotlight’s projects.
Patricia has extensive experience in the financial field, especially in terms of accounting, billing, tax preparation, clearing and settlement, matching of financial transactions, etc. Before becoming Espotlight’s head of finance, Patricia worked for Mogambo, a company focused on managing revenue benefit of Spanish tax incentives for film production.
Nuria Márquez is the Head of Communication and Press at ESPotlight. During the years at the agency Alter Ego Talent House she has helped position all the projects and their talents at a higher level in the industry managing their careers with a marketing vision. Nuria was also part of Malaga film festival since its start. At the festival Nuria was a publisher, a PR the responsible of the tribute prices and honored guests every year.
Mar Álvarez is a journalist specialized in socio-cultural communication with experience in the world of culture. She has worked in various sectors related to communication, and in 2023, she joins the press department of Espotlight.
Tete has held the accountant and human resources position in ESPotlight and Alter Ego since the companies started expanding years ago. She managed the day-to-day administration, invoicing and sales revenue management tasks as well as coordinating all the internal company matters like payroll management. Tete is now focused on the human resources part of the company.
In parallel, Tete has worked as a production manager at Ziggurat Films since the company was founded almost a decade ago. Ziggurat’s credits include works like Paco de Lucía: la búsqueda or Malú: ni un paso atrás. Other credits include advertising and corporative videos for companies like Ibis, Sublimotio, Veronica Ortega or Jorge Blass El Mago.
